Issue with Airport Extreme Base Station and LaCie drive
Why won't my Airport Extreme Base Station, recognise my LaCie 750GB D2 drive? I have owned the drive for months, and never had a problem using it directly attached to my Mac. I have reformatted the disk (Mac OS Extended) and used the base stations USB connection for other devices without any issue. LaCie support say this is a known issue and the issue is with the base station.

Inappropriate?I had that problem with my WD "My Book" external Hard disk too. What worked for me is the following:
1 - Plug your external HD to your base station.
2 - Unplug the power cable from the base station.
3 - wait 2 minute...
4 - Plug the power cable back onto the base station.
5 - wait 2 minutes...
6 - By now it should have recognized your hard disk.
7 - You should be able to see it in the base station prefs.
8 - If you don't, go back to step 2 and wait a little longer...
After that mine works fine... hope that helps you a little...
