It'd be great if the iPhone calendar app would support CalDAV.
Right now CalDAV users, including those who have OS X Server, are left in the dark without any way to connect the Calendar on the iPhone to CalDAV.
My company wants to move to OS X Server, but this is holding us back.

Inappropriate?iPhone 3.0 adds CalDAV support
http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/...
CalDAV Calender
The iPhone's Calendar app is being updated to support the emerging CalDAV specification used by Apple's iCal Server and the open source Darwin Calendar Server, as well as other third party calendaring products.
That will enable third parties an open mechanism for supporting mobile calendar features. The new Calendar also now works with subscribed .ics iCalendar feeds, which populate calendar events based on an RSS feed.
The 3.0 update will also add support for Note sync.
I’m excited

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?I bet Google is kicking itself for putting so much effort into their exchange server right now.

Inappropriate?Mark, does iCal in 3.0 support the ability to select which calendars are viewed. At the moment it is ALL or 1 selected calendar. I have 7 calendars, of which I would like to have a unified view of 3 of those calendars but not show those calendars that belong to my wife

Inappropriate?MDNZ, yes, in that you have to add each calendar separately as a separate account, so don't add the calendars you don't want to see, no in that within Calendar, there is no facility for seeing some calendars and not others, it is one, all for an account or all. This may change, as I think it is partly down to google as when you add google, it only shows the first calendar, you have to add the remaining calendars as separate accounts. This may also change, as 3.0 is not finalised yet.

Inappropriate?Although the iPhone supports CalDAV, it will not allow you to edit/create new events on the CalDAV calendars. When creating an event, the iPhone can only create in a local calendar. As of 3.1, the iPhone only supports CalDAV in a read-only function. http://www.apple.com/iphone/how-to/#c....subscribing-to-and-sharing-calendars
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate? If you setup the CalDAV account correctly, you can create events on the iPhone that will appear in the CalDAV calendar. I do this with Google Calendar. See this link on how to setup CalDAV calendars:
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/...
When you create an event on the iPhone, wait for the progress indicator to appear and disappear. That is the iPhone uploading the new event to your CalDAV calendar. If you quit the calendar app before it finishes, then your new event will not be uploaded until the next time you start the calendar app.
The only downside to using Google's CalDAV is that it does not support push to the iPhone (unlike using their Exchange setup). If you change your Google calendar online, the iPhone's calendar app will not be updated until the next time you start the calendar app (even if the app is already running).
I’m ok
