It's been over 24 hours now and my connection is still not up!
I thought activation was almost immediate. I activated throug itunes and I am yet to get the confirmaton message. It has been almost 30 hours now. How long does it typically take for activation through itunes?

Inappropriate?It was immediate for me and everyone I know who was already on AT&T. However, I believe it does take a few hours for the switch from one carrier to another. This should be mentioned when you go through the switching process.
I do know that AT&T had many problems with their systems handling the massive surge of connections. This hit particularly hard around the credit checks, and no doubt in the switchover process. My mom had a whole set of problems with switching her account but her Verizon account was still in her husband's name. She had to jump through many hoops to get the account released for switchover.
It is obvious that Apple is in a very different league than AT&T. It's sad that there is no mobile equivalent to Apple that they could have partnered with to make this flawless. But maybe there are changes afoot. -
