The Keynote Remote iPhone application should be included with iWork 09. This is a repeat of the Quicktime Pro Upgrade, adding a few dollars to unlock functionality that should have always been available.

Inappropriate?I have no problem with 99c.
Wonder if it has something to do with revenue recognition and US GAAP (revisit the old Airport 'n' enhancement)
I’m grateful we have the remote to use

Inappropriate?@MDNZ That's quite likely, and if so, is somewhat less ridiculous than the 29.99$ QuickTime Pro Tax, at least if the Remote is considered a separate product. Still, I would have preferred the Remote be included with Keynote itself.
I’m undecided

I agree, I would rather not have to pay extra, but then I am sure someone will complain that the price was bundled in iWork and they don't own an iPhone... rock and a hard place when it comes to customer satisfaction
Didn't pay for the Apple Remote (iTunes/Apple TV) so I guess I get two for price of one.
