Mac Mini (2007) wifi unreliable

We have a mid 2007 mac mini that will not sustain a wifi connection. At first we thought the room we had it in had spotty coverage, but other machines seemed to work fine. We recently moved to a new building, and the wifi connection on this mini is still unreliable. Other macbooks work just fine in this room, and the building was designed to have strong wifi throughout.

I've read that there was a design flaw in the placement of the wifi circuitry in this unit, that causes it to overheat. I would love to hear a fix for this problem.
