Macbook Air USB ethernet adapter is unreliable and so is the system software
The Macbook Air USB ethernet adapter doesn't reliably work on older switches, routers or DSL modems.
When connected to many of these devices (including linksys wired routers), it doesn't properly detect the speed.
Not only is that annoying, but when the speed is manually set, it doesn't retain the settings often until you reset it multiple times.
This is both a software and a hardware problem, apparently, but could likely be remediated with a software fix.

Inappropriate? In a spat over my blog ... GS staff removed my post on where to get a hardware based Ethernet adapter that is better and more stable than Apple's - just look on eBay for the term "Apple Ethernet Adapter".
I’m Puzzled as to why my comment was removed

Inappropriate? If things seem to be out of context here ... GS staff and another commentor have removed some posts with the sole intention of making me look like a ranter and raver because I posted a negative story about GS on my blog detailing this issue. For note to Apple: A removal message was sent to me saying that APPLE REMOVED MY POST ... in actuality Eric Suez who posted on my blog and is a GS employee removed it and has no affiliation with Apple whatsoever. I was promised an amicable fair solution to this and it seems we've resorted to myspace tactics to resolve it.
I’m Blah about GS

Inappropriate?Hi, fixyourthinking. As I told you offline, and which I'll recount here for everyone's benefit, we removed your reply because it violated one of our community guidelines; namely, it was flagged by members of the community as "crass commercialism" because it appeared to be an attempt to sell something from your eBay store. You are always welcome to set up your own company on Get Satisfaction and foster a community of people who are interested in the products you have to sell, but we ask vendors to not advertise their wares in other company sections.
