Making it easier to follow TV shows on iTunes

I like to buy TV shows by the show, not by season passes. It seems like a no-brainer that there would be a way to return to a season of a particular show and while I'm add it, in Standard Definition, not HD by default. Every time I buy a TV show, I have to click about 5 times to get to the seaon, then say I don't want HD, then hit the actual choice. An alternative would be a subscription like thing that worked like season passes (an email alert) but without buying the season.
