Many users having the same trouble with IChat connection
When I try t login to AIM on iChat it keeps connecting and disconnecting, and I get a message saying you have attempted to login too often in a short period of time. Wait a few minutes before trying to login again. I have waited hours before trying to login and it does the same thing and it has been happening for a couple of days now. Anyone know what is wrong or what I can do?
My computer does the very same thing, but when I take my computer to the Apple store, it works fine there. I come home and it just opens and closes, opens and closes very fast, then says I have tried too many times and to try again later. Then later...the same thing happens. Somebody PLEASE let me know how to connect with ICHAT.

Inappropriate?Go into your iChat preferences, go the the Accounts area, select the Server Settings, and try selecting the Use SSL option (which will change the server you use -- mine shows slogin.oscar.aol.com). Try that along with using port 5190. These settings work for me to fix exactly the same problem. Hope that helps.

Inappropriate?=( mine is doing the same thing. its the acct, not the computer though, because the same msg. shows up on my fiancee's PC. i tried changing the port; same problem. checked the server and it matches what Steve says. been doing this all day! i've been waiting a while between tries too, so idk what its problem is.
