My iPod Touch 1st gen doesn't charge properly.
Dock connector not working well after 1 month out of warranty. It charges sometimes, but then the iPod will just stop charging and I have to wiggle the connector. Is there any way I can fix this? I would like to get an iPhone in the future but I am waiting until the next generation version comes out in the summer. I know for sure it is not the USB cable

Inappropriate?I had a similar problem once. There was lint in the dock connector port from keeping my iPod in my pocket. I used a toothpick to pull out the lint. If you do this, be careful, the pins are reportedly quite fragile.

Inappropriate?I tried that, but it didn't help unfortunately. I am going to buy a firewire ipod cable to charge it.
Come on apple, you should totally switch to the standard mini USB. Your products are awesome, but your adapters and cables are beyond lousy. What is the point of mini-display port if you can't even get an adapter to plug it in to a display port screen??

Inappropriate? My friend had that problem with her iPod nano and the problem was that it got kind of deformed, because she was carrying it in her bag. Can you plug in the connector normally or is there a kind of resistance. Like is it hard to put the connector into the iPod (sounds stupid, I know, I'm german and I don't know how to say it). If there is a resistance your connection might be deformed.
By the way, I don't think that apples adapters and cables are lousy. I use them a lot, cause I have a lot of apple product and everything works fine.
