My MacBook screen is flickering!
Seems to do it when it is going to sleep; not during active use. It scares me!

Inappropriate?Mine is flickering too. Durning normal usage. I think this has happened to me before, and I had to bring it in to Apple. I guess I have to do that again...
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Same here. I can't find a situation to correlate to flickering, but damn it, it flickers. Only 3 months old...

Inappropriate?I've heard from some people complaining about this that it has something to do with the inverter. Probably best to turn it in to get fixed.
-
Inappropriate?Yup, it has to do with a bad inverter. Had this problem on my old white MacBook twice. Luckily that MacBook also had some other problems so Apple replaced it completely.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I have the same but on turning the brightness down one notch, went away, at least for the moment
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Had a similar, if not the same problem, but the 'buzzing' is continuous. The only way to prevent it is to sleep the MacBook and then wake it again. This doesn't work all the time either.
Sent off my MBP (for the 2nd time) yesterday to get this repaired.

Inappropriate?Likewise I have to turn brightness down one notch to make it go away.
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate?I just took mine in a month ago and had the inverter replaced. It's been fine ever since. I was able to make it flicker every time when I would lower the screen to almost where it would go to sleep. I took it into the apple store and got it back in 4 days. I'm glad I got applecare on the device.

Inappropriate?mines flickering AND turning pink. i am really upset... its not even 2 months old, it shouldnt be having problems.
-
Inappropriate?Ive noticed this problem often when my computer wakes up from being asleep and is running on battery power. It's mainly just a nuisance but a little worrying since my device is less than a year old and I think I'm out of warranty.

Over time, the problem will get worse. At least mine did. I let it go for a year before I got it fixed because it wasn't that bad. Just before I took it in, it was really bad. New devices come with a 1 year warranty I think. Get it repaired if you can. -
Inappropriate?yay my powerbook was doing this and i turned the brightness down one notch and it went away. Love you guys!!
-
Inappropriate?I used to have this problem but mine was a more subtle flicker that became obvious when the brightness was down a bit. I believe ALL macbooks have this same problem, people just keep the brightness all the way up so they don't notice it. Anyways, I think upgrading to Leopard solved it. Apple should replace the software drivers in the earlier versions of OSX. But they won't admit there is a problem so it is unlikely they will address it.

Inappropriate?I took my MacBookPro to my local service center. They replaced the screen completely and the inverter board. The problem is now completely fixed. Luckily I was still a week within my warranty.
I’m grateful

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. My MacBook already went in for this same problem, and it appears I have to send it back in again. Oh bother.
I’m bummed.
-
Inappropriate?I had this problem and it was the inverter. Took it to the Apple store and they fixed it - have never had the issue since.
-
Inappropriate? It happens to me but I only noticed it when the screen is bright (1-2 lines till max)
-
Inappropriate?I had this problem 2 years ago on my 2005 Powerbook G4. They replaced my logic board and the problem went away. Now, it is back again and my Apple Care has expired. Dang!
