My White Macbook's palm rests are dirty. They're not discolored--just dirty. I've tried different cleaning solutions, none seemed to have worked. Any suggestions?

I have the blackbook and the Mr. Clean gets 'er looking matte again every time. I use it on EVERY surface of the macbook and not a scratch or abrasion to be found. Just don't get it TOO wet and you should be peachy.

MCME is what the Apple Store itself uses. I brought mine in because I thought it *was* discolored (like the problem with the old iBooks and first gen Macbooks) and Apple just used the magic eraser.

I would say try a little bleach, like "straight out of the brand new bottle" bleach in a piece of paper towel or a clean cloth you will not use. Leave it for 1 or 2 minutes then wipe it clean with a moist cloth and make sure you clean the bleach well. Use a dry cloth to dry it or compressed air. Mind you if you leave the bleach for too long you could damage your palm rest.

There is also another chemical called "FoamSafe", that stuff takes dirt and stuck on crap out of any surface in a few minutes. Be careful with it... burns the skin like crazy.

Actually I am an authorized Apple service provider that does warranty repairs etc. If you're under warranty, this falls under the warranty and the top casing can be replaced very quickly. I hope that helps. Not everyone is near a service provider, sadly.
