Resize mail preferences window
Hi,
When I'm adding rules to sort my mail in the mail application, each new rule makes the window longer. There's a point where there are so many rules that the bottom edge of the window extends beyond the bottom of the screen, making it impossible to click on the "ok" or "cancel" buttons. I'm new to macs, so I'm sure there's some easy thing I'm missing. any tips?

Inappropriate? Not sure if this helps, but one thing I do when I get a window that is larger than my screen on my Mac (and it is a rare occurrence) is to temporarily change the display's resolution to something higher (for example, from 1024x68 to 1280x800). Then, I click on OK or resize the window or do what I have to do. Finally, I change the resolution back to my previous resolution.
You can also, in System Preferences>Displays, check the box that says "Show displays in menu bar" so that you can have easy access to your display settings in situations like this. Does that help at all?
I’m supporting new ways of doing things

Inappropriate?I had the same problem. I tried doing what Eric suggested but I couldn't change my display size above 1024 x 768 (I'm using an 12" iBook G4). What I ended up doing is using a second monitor and positioning the second screen (in System Preferences/Displays) beneath my laptop screen so I could see the bottom of the Mail > Rules window. Obviously not an elegant solution, but it works. (By the way, if you're using a Mac "laptop" that doesn't support split-screen you'll have to hack your way around this - it's not hard, smarter people than us have made it easy. Just be warned, as you will when you go to try this, that this can be dangerous and probably voids your warranty.)
