Safari won't "remember me" on sites requiring a login
Hi, I've been experiencing this problem for a few months. Safari seems to "forget" that I'm logged into sites and logs me out during my session or after closing the window, even if I check "remember me" when logging into a site. On Facebook, for example, I need to log back in every minute or so. On Behance, I am logged out when closing the window even if I select "remember me".
My cookies are set to "always allow", so I don't know why I am having this problem. I have resorted to using Firefox whenever trying to use a site I need to log in for and visit often. I have the most recent security update (10.5.6) and am running Safari 3.2.1.
Thanks for any help,
Liron

Inappropriate? If you're using SafariPlus, that might cause it.
-
Inappropriate?I don't use it...
-
Inappropriate?I'm not using any add-ons such as SafariPlus.

Inappropriate?I seem to have solved the issue for myself at least. Check your keychain with the keychain access app. My system show the internet section to be empty. I ran the repair function and all the internet entries magically reappeared.
Safari seems to be remembering my site logins and passes again. Give it a try, it might work for you. -
Inappropriate?I did try this solution but didn't solve the problem. Seems more a cookies problem than keychain ....

I’m confused

Inappropriate?I'm having this problem too... I have to log in to websites that used to remember for as long as I kept Safari open. Now, I log in, click a forum topic, write up a reply to post, and by the time I hit "post reply" I am sent to a log-in screen again. If I hit the back button on Safari and then the "post reply" button again, Safari remembers that I'm logged in and the post is made without asking me to log in again. Very strange.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I found a website that suggested deleting /Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist and resetting safari after repairing permissions. Of course, I can't find the page again because I just reset Safari. Oops. ...but it seems to have fixed the issue... for now.
I’m optimistic

please report on whether this problem reappears or not. many solutions have only lasted a short period before relapsing. -
Inappropriate?per Andrew Williams' tip I deleted /Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist and this has at least for now remedied the problem. Logins for facebook.com and twitter.com have survived repeated Safari quit/restart cycles. We'll see how long it lasts, pendolino.
I’m heartened.

ok. do update though :) -
Inappropriate?UNF. It totally doesn't work. I'm still having the same issue.

Inappropriate?I have "solved" this problem with Safari 4 (anyone else?) Also, on my other machines, I simply never upgraded to 10.5.6, which is the root of the problem, it appears.

Inappropriate? This has been going on months for many users - there's long threads in the Apple support discussions about it. One fix which many people have reported working is to delete any web clips in your dashboard. Don't ask me why this works, but it seems to for many. Worked for me for a month or so, but I've now got the problem back and have nothing in my Dashboard.
I’m irritated that it doesn't just work

Inappropriate? Thanks for piping up, Colin. I concluded the problem on my machine is using more than one browser. If I log in to facebook or Twitter using Safari and then Camino, Safari stops remembering the login state. If I go back to only using Safari for Twitter and facebook (after clearing the Safari cache) things seem work properly.
I’m better than nothing
