Inappropriate?Try Winpwn or Pwnage (Mac version), they both work on all versions up to 2.02 firmware. I have successfully unlocked and jailbroken my AT&T 2G iPhone to use in UK and Australia.
Create a custom firmware with a few clicks, then 'Restore' the custom firmware onto the iPhone by holding the Shift key and pressing 'Restore' in iTunes 7.x. Don't upgrade to iTunes 8 until after you have done this though.
Firmware 2.1 is out today (12 Sep 2008) so you may as well wait for that.
I’m happy
