Inappropriate?Ooh, great question! I wouldn't mind finding this one out, too.
I’m totally curious about this one

Inappropriate? The sensor is white and turns red or pink when it is wet.
Some people have tried hiding the fact that they got the iPhone wet by placing a tinny piece of white paper over the sensor. A few have been successful returning the iPhone for a new one. Apparently the genius guys use a flashlight and a magnification lens to see the sensor clearly.

Just to add to that... some people claim that over time atmospheric moisture will also change the color of the sensor (so if you are located near the sea or a big lake) your sensor may also change color over time. However, since Apple's warranty only covers the iPhone for 1 year (2 years with APP), I don't think this "over time" process really matters... by the time the sensor gets to full red the warranty will have expired anyway... -
Inappropriate?Mine's still white, and I live in foggy San Francisco (with, what, like 90% of other iPhone owners?).
I’m still dry
