What's the best way to clean the keyboard of my Macbook Pro?
In particular, dust and crumbs and hair find their way between and under the keys. On other laptops this has occasionally culminated in some keys not working as well. In those cases I've pulled off the key itself, cleaned underneath it, and then pushed the key back on. While this is fine for ad hoc cleanings under single keys, I'm wondering if there's a better way to do general cleaning on a regular basis. Laptop grooming?

Inappropriate?Have you tried one of those compressed air keyboard cleaners that come in a can?
-
Inappropriate? We use an anti-static foam spray and an old (clean) hand towel at work; this works really well.

Inappropriate? If you use compressed air cans try to buy them at your local SAMS or Costco stores they sell extra large professional cans in packs of 6 and 8 for about $10-$14 (the best value around). Also alcohol swabs (local pharmacy) work wonders on stuck sugar or sauce. If you need a quick clean you can always attach a brush add-on to your handheld vacuum. I personally use the "Shark"

One thing though, be careful cause the Shark is powerful enough to suck keys out (if this happens all you have to do is open the vacuum up, take the key out and press the key back into position)
I’m so...so...

Inappropriate? Some conversation here about popping the key caps off (and disassembly -- read all of the comments in the post and the below Apple article if you try this).

Here are Apple's details to disassemble (screw sizes, locations, spacers, tabs, tape, etc. )if you have to go that far:

Inappropriate? How should I clean off the surface around the mouse pad and keyboards? I have some spots on it but I wanted to make sure putting a little bit of water wouldn't hurt the shiny cover.
