Why can't I spend my $100 iPhone rebate on iTunes?
Sounded like a good deal at first but the fine print sucks

Inappropriate? My guess is that it would be driven by lower margins on iTunes media. Of course, that's assuming that the margins are lower on music. So if they allowed it to be used on media, it would actually cost them more than it would on other goods. That's just my simple conjecture though.
I’m indifferent.

Inappropriate? If you spend $100 on apple merch at the apple store they get all $100, whereas if you spend it on iTunes they have to pay out a portion to the artists.
I’m not surprised

Inappropriate? You can do this, it's just a bit more than it should be - take your $100 to the Apple store and buy $100 worth of iTunes gift cards. Bam!
