"RT" for retweets
Are you adding the "RT" terminology when retweeting? You use the (via @) language now. This is not the same and not picked up as well.

Inappropriate? It'll be an option in 1.3, but I'm extremely unhappy about it. (You will have to explicitly enable it).

Inappropriate?Definitely prefer the new RT functionality, and would like to see it in Tweetie for Mac as well. The problem with the current "via..." approach, IMHO, is that it makes the re-posted tweet sound like it's coming from the *originator." RT has the benefit of setting the "tone" of the Tweet right off so that you realize that it's originally FROM somebody else.
For example, I had a straight male friend recently re-tweet a post from a girl about a cute guy. It seemed really weird for a moment until my brain processed the "via" line and realized that it was a re-post. :)

Inappropriate?Fully afree with you Jesse. I could honestly not care about 'atebits' not being happy about it. It is like I have said in an earlier reply here, the customer's mental model that RT is used. supply the tool, don't try and change Twitter user behaviour as you see fit, that is not your core business. Good luck with the update. Am still a happy a loyal (Mac & iPhone) user of Tweetie!
I’m hopeful that Atebits will focus on development, not on changing Twitter User's behaviour!

Inappropriate? Please re-enable RT option in Tweetie 2. I know you don't like it, but some of us do and use it responsibly. Don't force this on us without option to go back.

It's still there, there is now an official API, and Tweetie 2.0 uses it :) -
Is there documentation somewhere? I'm poking through settings and not seeing anything... -
Oooookay, nevermind... I see the different options for "Retweet" and "Quote Tweet" when I go to actually RT, just not in the settings. My bad. Sorry! -
That's it. The settings you see are for the "Quote Tweet" option. The Retweet option always uses RT, presumably via the API.
