*Temporary* fix for Growl and Hide Dock Icon (messy, but works)
Until the growl and dock icon ideas are implemented:
You can use Scalaris ( http://uri.cat/software/Scalaris/ ) to get notification via Growl. Scalaris is a growl-only twitter client. You can use it in tandem with Tweetie to get your notices.
You can use Dockless ( http://homepage.mac.com/fahrenba/prog... ) to hide the dock icon. ...of Tweetie, or any other application.

Inappropriate?Growl already works with tweetie. You just need to go into the notifications settings in accounts.

Inappropriate?Oh, really? Hehe, I would never have known. I would still be waiting for it to be implemented. Oops.
I saw that the app was registered with Growl, but nothing was happening. I assumed that, as with MOST growl-enabled apps, growl notifications would be activated by default.
Oh well, I guess people won't have to bother with that then.
I’m amused

Inappropriate?Oh, I wish I could just delete this. Plenty of other people have suggested Dockless in the other thread....
I’m dumb

Inappropriate? The thing is, I searched for about 10 minutes before posting. There are so many duplicate topics in this area that I never found the definitive ones that have promptly jumped to the first page. :o
