Choosing to post to Ping.fm or just post to Twitter

When using the ping.fm integration, I think it would be great if I had a choice to post it to Ping.fm or just post to Twitter.

I know the ping.fm integration works but using the ping.fm triggers do not work (post only to twitter by using @tt at the beginning of message).

So its it possible to have a choice in posting if you using Ping.fm.

I’m excited that there is ping.fm in Tweetie!

I would love this! Just add a check box to the New Tweet window that is checked by default. When composing a new Tweet, you would have the option to uncheck it if you want the Tweet to go only to Twitter. Currently when I want a Tweet to only go to Twitter, I have to use TwitterFon. :(

The thing with this is it adds a whole extra step to post your tweets. Which is sort of counter to the design of Tweetie. There might be something to be done about this while maintaining the integrity of Tweetie's main purpose but it's going to require quite a bit of thought and programing.

So we have to make sure that enough people want this, so that we can be sure our efforts wont be wasted.

Personally, I'd rather see Ping.fm accounts not tied to a twitter account - if I'm posting to Ping.fm, there's a VERY HIGH LIKELIHOOD it's going to be posting to twitter already!

Separating out Ping.fm support into just another user account (like multiple Twitter accounts are already) would be perfect. It'd let users add Ping.fm specific elements (like @tt), and make it MUCH easier to manage.
