Direct message more like chat
Direct message thread screen could add a refresh button and instead of the odd "Reply..." button at the top, why doesn't it have an integrated text box at the bottom for a quick chat/sms like interaction?

Inappropriate?agreed, need consistent UI- would actually suggest it use the same 'reply' arrow in the direct msgs as it does on the tweets...?
