Display lists of followers/following within the app
It would be great to see the list of followers/following displayed within the app under the information section of a selected user. (It currently opens up the the related page on the Twitter site.)

Inappropriate? So twitter has a kind of cruddy way of letting clients access that sort of info. It's pretty much exactly like you see on the web. Pages of 20ish people ordered by follow date (as opposed to popularity or alphabetics, etc). If we gave that to people they would (rightly) think it was kind of goofy.
Until Twitter can just give us a list of all the followers/followees, we're going to leave it the current way. -
Isn't that what Tweetie on the iPhone does, and that behavior seems fine to me? It doesn't feel goofy, but supplies the information that I am looking for. -
Maybe I am wrong, but the iPhone app seems to list followers/following by "most recent". however it works on iPhone is cool for the desktop version. -
I agree with the Developer. I would rather wait for Twitter to release an API function to organize Followers/Following by follow date, username, full name, number of tweets, number of followers, number following. -
wait.. why not just sync that data every once and a while and store it locally? its not like it changes that often. Isn't that the strength of doing a desktop app over a web one? -
Although your idea is a better way, giving us what Twitter gives us is enough for now. It is what everyone is used to anyway. -
Inappropriate?Agreed, the iPhone app behaviour is perfect for me.

Inappropriate?I don't see how you would fit much more then 20ish people per page in this app either.. assuming you kept the avatars a similar size in the new style...
I think this idea is great! if I want to "Start" the conversation with one of my buddies, I'd like an "easy" way to find them.. currently I hope they have recently tweeted, or have to type in their username, which is not always the easiest thing to remember!
I’m sad I cant do this already

Inappropriate? It doesn't really matter to me exactly how it's displayed. I would just love to be able to do everything I can do on Twitter within the app.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks for the info ashponders, although I'd really like to see the details included within the app - regardless of how it appears. In fact I think anything at all would appear less goofy then a link to the Twitter site.
The iPhone version of Tweetie (and even other iPhone and Mac apps) seem to do a pretty good job despite the limitations.
I'd really appreciate if you could reconsider.
I’m disappointed

I bought the desktop Tweetie with a little bit of a leap of faith as I am hoping it will gain at least the same feature set as the iPhone version. Showing followers and those I follow in the App itself is the one big feature I really miss. Being able to see the followers etc of those I follow in the App is important as well, as sometimes this is how I find new ppl to follow. Please include this ability no matter how scroll-happy we have to get. -
Inappropriate? It would be great to stay within the app, instead of get shuttled out to the website. I agree that seeing the list of followers by follow date is not ideal, but can't that information be scraped and presented in a more fluid way within the app (e.g., alphabetically)?

Inappropriate? For those of us with multiple accounts, having to go to the browser in order to follow back is a show stopper. Odd that it works on the iphone but not the desktop app. Seems that the desktop app should have more features not fewer. This single shortcoming prevents me from making Tweetie my default Twitter client and/or paying anything for it.

What do you mean? I can follow people just fine from within the app. *shrug* -
Inappropriate?Sorry, let me clarify. W/out being able to see who is following me in the app, I need to search for the specific Twitter ID and then follow from there but it really is cumbersome compared to just seeing a list of who is following you (sorted by most recent first) and following from there. I did not mean to suggest that following from within the app didn't work. It does.
-
Inappropriate?I would like to see this also. I sometimes want to tweet @ someone, but I don't know their username as I display full names. If they havn't tweeted in a while I can't find them in my timeline so a quick list of followed users would allow me to find them quickly.
