When groups does arrive, I hope that we are able to drag and drop Tweets into the groups to put them there. It will be easier than having to scroll through some list to find a name and click a check box (like you have to in Tweetdeck at times). I want to be able to click on a person's icon (or perhaps the tweet balloon area as well) and just drag that person into the group on the left column.
I’m confident this will be resolved.

The sidebar has lot of room for groups, it doesn't have to be multi-column.

I agree...putting "groups" or "stacks" headings on the sidebar would be super. -
True, that would be the best way to organize this. -
I agree. You could easily fit groups and saved searches in the sidebar. -
Hopefully, atebits already has this in mind. It gives legitimacy to all the extra space in the sidebar. -
I agree, just like nambu -
Inappropriate?I follow so many people, I'm going to have to keep using Nambu until Tweetie has groups. I'll still use Tweetie, because it's so friggin awesome, but I can't wait until it has groups and I don't have to use Nambu for catching up on tweets.

I'll keep using Seesmic Desktop until Tweetie!Mac develops groups. -
Inappropriate?Yes please, this + main window tweeting will keep me in tweet-deck
-
Inappropriate?YES! Please add groups! That is the only thing holding me back from buying Tweetie for Mac!
I’m Hopeful

Inappropriate?I know you seem to be against groups until twitter implements it on their site.Realistically that's not happening any time soon. So PLEASE for the love of god add Nambu style group support! That and saved search are really the ONLY thing missing in this awesome app!

Inappropriate?I would love groups, but I know it would be a bunch of work. Its not just adding some tabs, its making a screen to manage groups and who belongs to each group. There's always little things that get in the way too, like dealing with name changes that occur on Twitter, or what to do when a bunch of groups have been added to the sidebar and they don't fit. A lot of features are like icebergs. We think of the small result we want, and then find out all the other little things that have to be addressed to accomplish it.
I've had to setup a separate account in the mean time just to separate out real friends from interests, but I really hope we get groups. -

Allowing each user to be placed in multiple groups (i.e. apply multiple tags) would be nice too. Though if the developer consider this counter-intuitive I'm willing to concede this point. -
Inappropriate?Or groups like Nambu... (but I do prefer the look and feel of Tweetie for the Mac)

Inappropriate? So far, I've only been using free iPhone Twitter apps. Now, I'd like to buy an app and Tweetie is my top choice. BUT, I need groups. For me, it makes it a lot easier to follow many many people.
I look forward to seeing group support soon so I can finally purchase this highly recommended app.

Inappropriate?I understand the developer's concerns about adding groups. But in a way, I don't care. I don't mean that harshly, but in the sense that I know I need groups to make Tweetie -- with its wonderful interface -- usable for me. It's true that new users or those with uncomplicated needs don't need groups. But I think most of those users don't need a dedicated Twitter client. I can't urge the developer enough to reconsider his purity and elegance design philosophy. Your users are telling you they need this feature!
I’m undecided
