This is a suggestion, not a mandate; however, I don't always want to read all of my tweets, nor do I want to mark all of them as read. BUT if I don't read them all, I have to deal with the distractingly bright blue menu bar icon throbbing at me. I'd like to see it turn off when I click it to open Tweetie. It'd be like dismissing a notification. Either that or the menu bar icon needs to be slightly less garish and/or not glowing (sorry! but it's sooo bright blue!)

I do like to have the menu bar icon: I find it useful and it's a nice cue for the arrival of new tweets.

My ideal flow would be this:
Normal: black
New tweet: turns blue
Read tweets from tweetie: returns to black
Click on icon: turns black
get new tweets: turns blue again
(rinse and repeat as above)
