Twitter is not an RSS feed. Is really that important to read EVERY tweet?
When you follow 200+ people is ridiculous to read everything.
In case Atebits wants to put this, please make it optional.

Inappropriate?Whats there to hate? the badges in ex. twitterfon goes away instantly and is only there to tell you how many new tweets there are when you enter. There you dont have to mark each tweet as unread, its just a way of letting you know whats waiting for you.
It would be SUPER useful to see if you have new @replies or DM's cause i tend to forget to check these!

Agreed, even if it's just for replies and direct messages, but it's a bit superfluous now to have to check replies and DMs everytime I use the Tweetie, just to see if I've received something new.
