Timeout - Provide a way to temporarily hide ('mute') a person you're following
I think a lot of people would like a "mute" button to temporarily hide people they follow. I don't want to have to unfollow and refollow people who are temporarily overtweeting...
There's already a similar suggestion for the iPhone version, but I would love to see this in both the iPhone and the Mac versions of Tweetie.

Inappropriate?I'd love a silent squelch/hide feature that you could activate for a certain length of time (days/hours/etc). You'd still get the messages, but they wouldn't show til the time expired or the squelch was cancelled, at which time they'd reappear -- ideally either from that time forward or older tweets would appear as if never hidden.
I’m hopeful

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?I want this feature perhaps more than ANYTHING ELSE on the internet. Really.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I love the idea of either this option or being able to "group" people together. I honestly don't care which one wins I just want -one- of those two to be implemented. When I'm out and about on the iPhone I don't need to see -everything-

Inappropriate? This would definitely beat temporary unfollows.

Inappropriate? This would be a great idea. I am following some great ppl but on Idol nights (for example), that is ALL THEY TWEET ABOUT and I honestly don't care nor do I need tweet after tweet coming through about it.
I'd love this suggestion to be implemented! -
Inappropriate?'Timeout' has been requested by nearly every twitter user ever. And I think nearly every twitter developer, including Loren, have given thought to it.
There are a few issues at hand that might complicate things, but in general, we'd like to have such an option to. So I guess, consider it on our drawing board, but not yet on the eminent features list.
