Retweet Options and one-click option
although it does integrate retweet I would love to see it a little more accessible, possibly a one click button next to reply, and the possibilities of locations of retweet (RT @user in front or (via @user) )

"RT" formatting option will come by popular request. I only ask that you use it responsibly. Excessive retweeting makes me sad.
As for one-click, the idea is to keep the UI as clutter free as possible. Shortcuts will be exposed via keyboard shortcuts. In fact, there is already a shortcut: Command-Option-R.
Browse around the menu bar, you may find a handy shortcut that you didn't know about before ;)
I’m hoping people don't abuse RT

RT @user message = Less characters and clearly stating "This is a retweet"
message (via @user) = More characters and the meaning "This tweet is based on something @user wrote"
RT != via...
Let us use RT @user. Plz?
This is actually one of the main reasons I haven't payed yet.
I’m frustrated

Agreed. I posted this elsewhere, but the problem with the (via @name) syntax is that it makes it unclear who is actually speaking when you RT.

I just want it to do what iphone tweetie does. Give us the via/rt option in the settings, and a button for retweeting on the tweets.

I usually don't completely copy someone else's tweet, but I may want the link from their tweet and the "via" formating is helpful for making sure to let people know where you heard about it originally. -
Agreed, which is why both options have their uses, as I pointed out elsewhere.
Ideally, I'd like to see *two* menu options: One for reposting and one for re-tweeting. The developer indicates that adding an extra button to the iPhone app wasn't really desirable due to limited screen space, but surely that's not an issue in the Mac version of the app. -
Inappropriate? Also the "via" syntax eats up more characters. ;) Would love the option for a "RT @" syntax!!

Inappropriate?I think that RT @username is a more standard way of retweeting... it's a must have feature

I'd be fine with either way, but yes, it'd be fantastic to be able to customize it. -

RT @user is the standard... please change via to RT... or, at leave, give option to choose which one -

Good to know... my 15$ are on my way :)... well... once I see it happen :) -
Thanks. -
Sounds good! -
Thanks!
But seriously, let people use it as they want? We get it. You don't like RT. I don't want to be harsh in any way (Tweetie is by far one of the most beautiful and nice apps I've tried in a very, very long time and I _will_ give you my money), but I'm a bit sad to see that kind of attitude...
Anyway, thanks for including it! I'll be waiting for the updated version. -
What about changing the reply arrow to a retweet symbol when pressing the option key? That would keep the ui clean (what I really like) and provide the requested functionality. -
I agree with Kristoffer. You should worry about writing a good application that interfaces with Twitter (Good job by the way, really nice apps), not about how people will use Twitter. It makes it seem like you created a twitter client just to be able to control/restrict peoples' use of Twitter based on your own personal grudges. -
Thank you @atebits. Really appreciated. -
Inappropriate?@atebits, we (or at least I) realize retweeting is available via shortcuts but the request is that it be more accessible and easier to do and the retweet option next to reply is almost becoming standard across most twitter apps.
-
Inappropriate?I support all of it except the one-click option. One-click RTs will make it too easy to abuse the option.

Agreed, although I'd support having the one-click option as long as it was attached to a feature that would keep track of how often it was clicked and if it was overused simply redirect the user to a retwits anonymous page or somesuch :) -
Inappropriate?I don't understand why the developer is so against RT and wants us to use (via) instead. Give us the choice, please!

Probably you should have read what the company said which is listet on the top directly underneath the request. It says there “"RT" formatting option will come by popular request.”
No need at all to be frustrated if you read the page correctly.
