Suggestion for how to ease API call per hour limit
Since Tweetie is a desktop application, and a Mac application, why can't it (transparently): use Webkit, log you in to twitter.com, and use that to grab mentions and direct messages, thus using zero API calls?
Since I have already provided Tweetie with my username and password, and since Webkit instances have their own unique cookie store, Tweetie should be able to do this without me noticing at all. That would give it a SIGNIFICANT leg up on other clients.
What do you think, Loren?

Inappropriate?Well never mind then - I thought it was a great idea :-) but it seems Twitter doesn't allow it.
