Timeline and mentions should be in sync
Reading a reply in the timeline view should also mark it as read in the mentions view (and vice-versa). Right now, a reply read in the timeline view doesn't mark it as read in the mentions view, forcing users to check both views to properly sync them.

Inappropriate?I was just about to mention this. Probably a simple fix, but it's bugging me that I have to check two timelines in order to mark a mention from my friend as read.
-
Exactly my point! ;) -
Inappropriate?Yes, I fully agree. I was about to add this as a suggested feature. It doesn't make the app usage a problem, just a little less clean than it could be.
I’m ok, but hope it can be resolved.

I hear you! Alternating between Nambu and EventBox until this gets fixed (and I can't wait until it does- I love all the other aspects of Tweetie). -
Inappropriate?Yeah this needs to be added for sure.
-
Inappropriate? This really needs to be resolved, because sometimes I think there is a new tweet, but then it is just me not clearing it from both tweet tabs.
I’m ok, but need it fixed
-
Inappropriate? One thought I've had on this and how it relates to the auto-scroll feature: There have been a few times where I've left Tweetie running on my computer while I was away from it for awhile. Over that period of time I received two Mentions with some space in-between them. When I returned to the computer, one of the mentions was right there on the screen, but the other was much further down the timeline. If I had not clicked the Mentions tab to try and clear it, I would not have seen it.
I supposed this could be fixed by turning off the auto-scroll, but you know what they say, Twitter Isn't Email.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? Many people receive mentions from people who they do not follow on twitter. If one of these mentions appears between two tweets from your friends, if the "mentions" tab auto-scrolled up, you would naturally miss the mention from the person you do not follow.
I agree that it should automagically scroll when you only receive the mentions from your friends, though. -
As long as the feature is handled so that anything scrolled past in the main timeline is marked as read, then the other mentions will not be affected. I think this is what the OP was implying, not that all mentions are marked as seen, but rather anything scrolled past in the main timeline is marked as seen in the Mentions tab. -
Inappropriate?I think mentions should also show up in the main feed, even if they're from someone you don't follow. This is a great feature of Twitterrific.

I'd agree with this as well, actually. This has been an issue for me in both Tweetie on the Mac and the iPhone, although at least the Mac version has a notification dot -- on the iPhone itself there were many times I missed new replies/mentions *entirely* because they didn't show up in the main timeline. -
Inappropriate? This still doesn't work as expected in 1.1.1.
I hope this is sorted out soon.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Just got the 1.2 update and it's not in there either. Would gladly have traded any and all of the features in that update for this fix.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?High on the todo list - hoping to get to it soon.
The company and 1 other person say
this solves the problem
-
Inappropriate?Um.. I don't know about the rest of you but mentions to me ARE shown on my timeline. Even mentions to others are shown on y timeline. I guess company took cared of it. Yeah. Now about other issues...(back to posting them).
I’m happy
