Tweetie2 shows read DMs & @replies as unread after restart!
Everytime I start Tweetie 2 these blue dots below the dock icons mark previously read Direct Messages and @-replies as unread. This is really annoying, because I have to click 2-4 already known messages/replies each time I start the app.

Inappropriate? No idea? There a still "unread" DMs every time I launch Tweetie 2. I start to ignore them, already. Things like these migtht happen using free apps, but Tweetie?!
[Edit: The whole app seems to be very buggy, btw.]
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Totally agree with you. If you get a Beta or Free app you put up with problems, but we paid for this app on top of Tweetie 1 it should work or at the very least be address urgently. No replies, no advice and it would seem no interest from Atebits.
They need to get this sorted and stop counting the profits.
I’m Pissed off
-
Yes Derek - that's exactly the point frustrating me. -
Inappropriate?Agreed. Although I love the new features Tweetie2 has, I feel like it's not very stable and I get frustrated with the bugs often. I'm tempted to go back to the original Tweetie iPhone app until atebits gets this sorted out. Extremely frustrating.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Snip, I'm currently still using Tweetie 1 as Tweetie 2 is full of bugs and glitches. Love the new features, but no push notification is a big draw back. I'd be happy if they fixed these bugs quickly.
I’m Frustrated
-
Inappropriate? It looks like there might be a persistence bug in 2.0 that is causing this, we've killed this bug in 2.1.
-
Inappropriate?Ashponders, do you know when we can expect an update to fix these bugs. I'd like to say that Tweetie 2 is brilliant like I have always said about Tweetie 1, but to be honest the shine was taken off it with these persistent bugs. It feels like a Beta version rather than a finished product.
I’m Hopeful
-
just as soon as we can have it out, techcrunch has a preview you can eyeball if you'd like. :) -
Inappropriate? Thanks, I might switch back to Tweetie 1 as well. The annoying bugs mentioned here are not the only ones: Tweets saved as drafts disappear, no Push, no flickr... other coders wouldn't dare to publish stuff like this!
Don't get me wrong, Atebits guys: I really dig your software (Tweetie1, the Mac version, Scribbles...) and Tweetie2 LOOKS amazing! But you published it to early - it's a pain in the ass at this time and it annoys your customers!!!
I’m waiting 4 the 2.1
-
the saved drafts disappearing issue is actually the same issue. -
Good news, thank you!! :-)))
This just leaves the flickr & push questions...
Please push Loren into these! ;-) -
Inappropriate?Btw @ashponders:
How can you mark my problem as "solved" as long as it isn't solved for me???
I’m Irritated
-
Inappropriate?Paradoxa, you hit it on the nail! Its not a finished product and we have all paid for the pleasure of being part of the BETA testing.
Its very annoying to have purchased this app when I could have got Echofon Pro which is getting rave reviews and does not appear to have these issues. Instead I thought if we are paying for the Tweetie 2 it must be a major leap forward in comparison to Tweetie 1. I didn't expect the glitches to have me thinking of going to another iPhone client.
That is why I'm looking to know when the update is due, as I might switch to another app and mark my experience with Tweetie 2 as a mistake. As Paradoxa says I dig Atebits software but this not a finished app and its rubbing salt in the wounds of loyal supports of Tweetie 1.
Ashponders, if you have good news it would be good to hear it.
I’m Still waiting
-
Fascinating, I never saw it from that point of view: Free Beta testers for Atebits... no, even worse! Paying money to be a free tester afterwards. Now that's what I call "viral"... Good point, Derek. And clever observation.
What will Atebits say? Maybe they'll offer us contracts? Free software? And fame? ;-))) -
Inappropriate?Any word on when this will be pushed to the app store? This seems to be getting progressively worse - it just flat out won't remember my exit state and it's super annoying!
I’m irritated.
-
Inappropriate?I want to support this one! As people said before: Tweetie2 isn't an app at all!!! Sorry, but it's crap right now. I feel like I'm cheated and I'd love to have my money back and switch over to Tweetie1 again.
TODOS FROM MY POV:
- REMEMBER @REPLIES
- REMEMBER DIRECT MESSAGES
- MAKE "SAVE AS DRAFT" REALLY SAVING AS A DRAFT
- ...
After you did this you might
- MARK THIS THING AS DONE
I’m not convinced
-
Inappropriate?Jasper & Antihero, you guys said it. How can this problem be considered solved when we all still have these issues? Further there has yet to be a reply to my question of when will 2.1 be available through the Apple Store?
From what I read here we are feeling ripped off being sold an bug ridden version that clearly was not ready for release. We are not a Beta Testing Group, we paid for this app. Mark it solved ONLY when its ACTUALLY solved!
I’m Pissed off

Inappropriate?BUMP!

When will we get paid for our beta testing?
I’m feeling fooled.
-
Inappropriate? And btw: since today I can't follow people in Tweetie2 anymore. After every switch back to the timelime the app simply forgets what I did 5 seconds before...
-
How many accounts are you using in Tweetie? It seems that this may be the cause of the bug. Jailbreak can also cause a similar issue. -
@ashponders: 2 Accounts, no jailbreak. -
Inappropriate?Same here no Jailbreak.
The truth is this app is not finish! This problem has not been solved! We are not a Beta Testing Group.
Either admit the app is bug ridden and give us a date when the fix will be available or give us all a REFUND.
But pretending its our problem and that it been resolved meaning nothing to us, accept to further piss us of and force us to other apps.
After all there is many other options for the iPhone. The problem is we paid for an app that does not work properly and you know it!
I’m Pissed oFF
-
I bought "Birdfeed" today - slim App. Nice design (not as nice as Tweetie's - but it supports flickr integration). And (thats the best part): no bugs. -
Inappropriate?Paradoxa, Birdhouse is another amazing app. But what we need here is clear answers or our money back. Tweetie2 is not living up to the product it claims to be and therefore we are entitled to demand a response or our money back.
-
I get your point, Derek. But I have a different approach: I demand an *apology* from Atebits. I really loved Tweetie1 (and Tweetie for Mac or Scribbles as well) - but I start hating Tweetie2. They should have the possibility to improve the app, it might become something wonderfull some day. But until then Atebits should display courage and admit, that Tweetie2 is not a working app yet. For example in the company's blog... -
Paradoxa, my approach changed when Ashponder decided to close this thread as solved when it clearly was not. Like you I have supported Atebits product, using Tweetie for Mac and loving Tweetie1. Both these two products I've encourage others to purchase and stuck with when new products came on the market. I was truly disappointed with the bugs in Tweetie2 and I honestly expected Atebits to release a new version ASAP! Instead they treated us as if the app was a free trial version and we could just suck it up. Well if its solved where is the new version? And why are they treating us with such disrespect? -
I guess ashponders is a cool guy in the end. Closing this thread was not clevers as soon as users can't experience that something is solved. But he changed the status back and apologized already.
BUT: Now it's time for Atebits itself to publish an apolgy for their whole Tweetie2-bulls#It-release strategy. It's a shame Loren didn't react in any way. This thing should be on top of the Atebits blog right now... -
Inappropriate?I changed this to In Progress, but as I said, we've got the fix for this bug already done, we just need to get it out.
-
Then get it out - PLEASE & for god's sake... ;-) -
Yeah no kidding, I'm pretty desperate for it too. -
What about the idea of Atebits/Loren writing an apology to us customers? I mean, all this gets on our nerves. We waste time because the app is not working or posting our experiences here... strange picture, after all. -
I'll apologize!
I'm really sorry about this bug, it's been super super frustrating. The fact that it hit only a tiny portion of our users has not lessened the weight I've felt about this. I'm really sorry I couldn't help you in some more real way. -
I appreciate your (personal) attitude towards this - but i fear, it's a bigger, more general question. In my eyes Atebits (as a company) should admit, that the release strategy of Tweetie2 has been a mess. Not just here, somewhere hidden deeply in the support forum, but on the official page. It's not about this bug (or the 100 others). It's a question of respect.
Or, if you don't want to read it in a moral way: of losing customers. -
Totally agree Atebits needs to admit this app is flawed and inform those that purchased when this solution will be released. Clearly our only value to Atebits is our money and not our loyality and ongoing support. In an already crowded market I would suggest Atebits consider the long term impact of screwing with loyal supporters for future products when there is now a good variety of choice especially regarding Twitter apps. Tweetie2 is under tougher competition now and this version is a mess. -
This is my point! I won't engage friends to buy this crap anymore as long as there's no "official" statement. Indeed I'll tell everyone to buy Birdfeed instead...
