2 days and still no reply here and on twitter... can we just get a simple yes / no answer for now so we don't have to guess around?
it will be nice if there is any workaround as well, like, if we geo tag the tweet, can our location be detected by others inside tweetie 2's new location mapping feature?

it just seems a bit ironic that tweetie 2 comes with this new cool way to see who is near you but then the only way for them to show up is by using other twitter clients other than tweetie....

Maybe the intention was to piggy back off Twitter's API for both geocoding the individual tweets as well as your profile location. Right now the tweets nearby feature probably just works off the geoloc off the integrated google maps app?

So we should continue to use Tweetie 1 if we want to update our location? It's interesting that a feature was removed from a new release of a product, yet it still works in the past version.

echofon FREE version even has the update location deal. it throws up the GPS coordinates for your location... pretty dope and it's really odd that this app doesn't do that.

there is a workaround...
buy Voila! (iphone app) & signup with Yahoo's FireEage location service...
add eagle tweet inside FireEagle and when you only want to change your location, just hit the Voila app and it will update your city/town...

i can't seem to get it to work with actual GPS locations tho...

it would be nice for Tweetie to actually do all the cool stuff it should. I just don't get the nice map searching feature that our tweets aren't even a part of!

since there hasn't been any update or anything, it looks like i'll be switching over to Echofon Pro.. it does everything.

of course i'm talking about updating your Twitter Profile Location and not adding a geotag to a certain tweet.

Geotag in Tweetie 2 is useless as far as I can tell. Why would I want to send my location in the text of each tweet? Why doesn't Tweetie 2 have the same functionality that updates your profile location? I paid for both Tweetie 1 and 2, but usually use the old version. Does someone have an answer for this?

Since Twitter has just added the functionality of geotagging, you can be sure that Loren will have this enabled in the next version. I have read (and I can't remember where, or I would link it) that many of the announced features of Twitter are already in the current version of Tweetie 2, just waiting to be enabled by Twitter themselves.

again... we're talking about just updating the Location inside the user profile of twitter and NOT geotagging each tweet or some future services twitter may add.

Tweetie 1 apparently did it... and not on this version.

it's an app issue. all the other apps have this function. again...
try Echofon. the free version has this feature.

to me, this is a major feature that's totally lacking.
