"Download this mockup" idea: Save as dialog
I'm wondering if you can have the download links open a save dialog rather than load the XML in page, e.g. you can try sending header "Content-Disposition: attachment" with the file so users don't have to save the file or right click.

Inappropriate?Definitely. It should also default to the name of the mockup and with the extension bmml. It's a bug, we'll fix it soon.
