Any way to use [links] embedded in text as actual links?
I can link to buttons, links in a Link Bar, Tab Bar, etc... but I can't figure out how to use the links you embed in text via square brackets: [link]. Am I missing something, or is this not supported yet? I'm on Mac 10.6, and have Mockups 1.6.40

Inappropriate?Well, it is only a mockup tool and not an authoring tool.
I don't know about future plans, but at the moment, it's not possible to "jump" to other pages from [links]. And as a customer, I'd like to keep it that way... -
Inappropriate?Hi guys, the answer is "not yet", but it's on my TODO list. Something like [this->product page] would show "this" and link to "product page".

Inappropriate? You sure, you want to do this? Usually, I rename my mockups during process. I might move them around. I delete them.
I know: if I don't want to use a feature, I don't have to use it. But I'd rather have some other features first...
I’m worried about the support requests you might get

Hi Andi, this has been on the roadmap since I started thinking about adding links, so yes I'm sure I want to do it. But as you can see, it's not the top priority either... :) -
Inappropriate?Yeah, [this->product page] or something like that would work... but if you want to go the extra mile, you could make [any] [links] in the text show up in the properties panel like they do for the link bar:

I'm not worried about renaming mockups like Andi... if you're doing that, then any linkages you've created would break, not just the ones in text. -
fancy! -
Inappropriate?I believe this would be a well used feature. What we have to do now is enter column data, but leave cells blank where we want links, and then put actual links over top of them, which works. Just means when you modify your table, you have to move your links to match the modifications. I'd like to know what others do to workaround this? What does balsamiq recommend? Is the only reason you can make links in text just to show that the link is there?
-
Hi Jon, yes that's what we'd recommend, or maybe using a borderless transparent rectangle as an overlay instead of a link control...but in the end you still have to move those together. The purpose for supporting [links] is to show people that it's a link, I believe it conveys a lot of info even if it doesn't really go anywhere.
