Be able to do global find and replace on text
I was editing a mockup today where I had to go through a huge number of text fields to change a term we were using on the site.
It would be great to have Find and Replace for text in Balsamiq, which would make these sorts of changes really, really simple!
I ended up doing it by editing the XML in the .bmml file directly, but it would be pretty useful if this sort of functionality was built in directly to Mockups.

Inappropriate? Why would you want this? If you doing mockups, why is it so important to have all that text? Why are you not using Lorem Ipsum.
I’m afraid adding this will bloat the software.

For example - if I'm building a mockup, and we are using the term 'User', which ends up being a label all over the mockup. 3 weeks in, we decide to change from 'User' to 'Member', now I have to go through a stack of mockups and manually replace the word 'User', which may be used 4/5 times on a mockup, to 'Member'.
I can do this with a text editor, so there is a workaround, but to have Edit > Find and Edit > Replace in the menu, I don't think would be a big ask given the XML structure. -
Inappropriate?Hi Mark, thank you for the suggestion. I agree that a search and replace option would not be something that makes the software feel like bloatware, but at the same time I wonder how often this is needed. As Michael pointed out, most Mockups don't really have that much text in it to start with, so perhaps the pain is not very high for most people.
Let me mull it over, I have added it to the TODO list but I need to decide how to prioritize it.
I’m thankful

That's totally fair enough.
Like I said, I can workaround it at the moment, so feel free to priority as such. -
Inappropriate?I agree that having a universal find and replace would be a fabulous feature to add to Balsamiq. Having a stack of 30-40 screen mock-ups for a business data application already prepared when a customer decides that the screen label "Remediation" should be changed to "Corrective Action" required searching through all mock-ups to make the adjustment. Exact labeling is always important to business customers. This feature could be a great time saver.
I’m hopeful!

Hi Deborah, thank you for your feedback. I totally understand the pain, and will work on adding Find/Replace in the future.
