Copy/paste between JIRA mockups
Is there an easy way to copy and paste controls between two open JIRA mockups?
I have tried control-c, control-v and the mockups copy/paste for controls. Any suggestions?

Inappropriate?Hi Adam, unfortunately Flash can only write to the clipboard and not read from it, except for in text fields (how dumb is that!). Sooo, I think your best bet is to do an Export, go to the other mockup, do Import, CTRL+V in the text-field, OK, and delete the stuff you didn't want. I know, yuck.
I’m wishing I had a more elegant answer

How about your export "selected controls" and create a new mockup? At least that way I save on a couple steps?
Still thinking... -
What are you trying to do? Is this "master slide" again? -
I need to create several variations of the same screen. I could just create it all within the mockup, but my screen size limits how easy that is. But since copy/paste isn't turning out to be too easy, leaving it within the same mockup might be the best option.
Still a bummer. -

Have you thought about exporting the common elements as an image and importing that as the background of all the other mockups? Needs 1.5 of course. -
That would work too. In the specific case that got me onto GetSatisfaction, I was trying to copy/paste a dialog with text from mockup A to mockup Z (somewhat unrelated mockup, but had a relevant set of controls) having already created mockup A from mockup B. -
Actually, what about allowing me to use the Import function to bring in controls using the xml from the .bmml. I can get used to looking at the xml.
For example:
<control>
<controlproperties>
<text>blahblahblah</text>
</controlproperties>
</control> -
That would work...if you wrap that puppy in a <controls> tag (with the proper attributes, copy and paste it), the import button should light up!</controls> -
This doesn't light up the import button. User error?
<controls>
<control>
<controlproperties>
<text>Select%20Filespace</text>
</controlproperties>
</control>
</controls>
(getsatisfaction is not showing all the code...) -
Well, hard to tell because GetSatisfaction strips all attributes from XML pasted in here...grrr...so I don't know if you're pasting it right but it's getting stripped or if you're trying to use a bad XML. In general, I would open a BMML file, copy it all, then paste it in the Import dialog and delete the stuff you don't want. That should work. -
Inappropriate?One thing that I could add is this: if you have something selected on export, I could ask you "do you want to export everything or just the selected controls?", which would help some when importing. Thoughts?

Inappropriate?That would work great.

ok, I'll try to squeeze that in 1.5
