I am unable to add multiple values to a combo box or other controls

I use the desktop version of balsamic running om Mac 10.5.8. Every time I try adding multiple vales to a control i just results in a "Enter" command.
The online version works fine.
The odd thing is that another person running the same software on Snow Leopard can enter multiple values.
Any idea?
