Import or Auto-Sketch A Balsamiq Mock Up Given URL Input
The down side to Balsamiq (or any sketching really) is that I have to load the basic design of whatever I'm working on in before I can get to the details/feature/portion I'm trying to improve.
As I loaded a blank Balsamiq canvas this morning and looked at the website I was working on for it, I wished that I could type its URL into Balsamiq and have a rough Balsamiq mockup sketched for me based on the HTML design.
I could then get to business faster by cleaning up the auto-sketched mockup.
Here is a screenshot of a blank Balsamiq canvass and the website I wish I could import into it:

Inappropriate?Hi Johnny, I agree that auto-sketching a web page would be a fantastic feature for Mockups. The problem is that it's really complex to make, probably it's more complex than the whole Mockups! :-)
But I can suggest you a way to speed up your work: take a snapshot of the web page and import it in Mockups using an Image control. Then lock it (to avoid to move it inadvertently) and begin sketching over it.
Yes, it's not automagic, but it should save you some time and help a lot in respecting the correct dimensions of objects in the web page.

Inappropriate? Thanks for your reply and your time Marco.
I did not know that importing an existing screenshot was an option. That will do very nicely. I will try this out tonight. -
Inappropriate?I created the mockup by using balasmiq and for online access of it , I uploaded in the google doc, as it does not support the default format of balasmiq mockup, I exported it as image and then uploaded it to the google doc.But when i want to edit that mockup on some other machine , I import it as image from the google doc but I can not ungroup the diff components made in mockup and it bahaves like an image. Atleast balasmiq should understand the image of those mockups whihc are created in balasmiq.
If I can do in some different way then plse reply at kkrish123mg@gmail.com -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the trace-over-an-image idea. That should speed things up a little anyway.
