Print...
This may seem petty, but I why cant I print from Mockups? I know I can export as PNG. But it's a pain to then locate the image, open it in my graphics tool, then choose print.
Wouldn't it be great if we could just use File>Print?

Inappropriate?Hi Michael, "add Print" is already on my TODO list.
The reasons why it's not in the product yet are the following:
- Mockup is a 1.0 product, so I decided to ship with the bare minimum of features, and add the others later, depending on what users wanted.
- Operating Systems have pretty good built-in applications to print images (I like the Windows Explorer UI for instance, and OSX has Preview), so I didn't want to reinvent the wheel
- the main reason though, which is kind of silly, is that up until last week, I didn't have a printer to test the feature with! :) I know I could have printed to PDF, but I wanted to test with real paper as well
Like I said, it's on the roadmap. If only there were more hours in the day! :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Actually I find printing with the MS preview to be a real pain. It is intended for photos and it tries to stretch, crop, and rotate your mockups.
Print would just make good sense. :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hoping you will reconsider. Its just a nuisance to have to:
1. Click export to PNG
2. Navigate to the location of the mockup folder
3. Thumb through all the versioned .png files
4. Open in a graphics program
5. Print.
Something as simple as print would really help people avoid the steps above. I have even resorted to printscreen on occasion.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Michael, Print is definitely on the roadmap, in fact, it's the next feature I'll work on after I finish the "resize past the bottom or right border to stretch the canvas" feature I'm working on.

Inappropriate?Jumping the gun a little bit but... as soon as you give us print, we'll be clamouring for printing collections of mockups.
If I'm ever going to replace Visio as a wireframing tool I need to have the ability to generate a printable "collection" of related mockups. I know this hinges on getting a "project format" right -- so here's hoping that is on the agenda too. -
Inappropriate?I see this all related to the storyboard mode idea. I would image that on the print dialog, we could have a checkbox that allows you to print all of the pages/layers of the mockups.

Inappropriate?Hi there, there's an early version of Mockups for Desktop with printing support available here if you'd like to test it: http://www.balsamiq.com/products/mock... - I haven't tested it too much, but it seems to work ok...the algorithm is simple, I shrink the mockup if it's too big, and never grow it past 100% of its size (if it does fit).
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate? How do you access print? Is it on the Mockup menu, I dont see it. Or do you right click?
-
Inappropriate?Starting from build 1.NEXT.91, you should see a Print... menu in the Mockup menu. I just installed it, seems to work ok here. BTW, it looks like Print might only work in the Desktop version...Flash limitations... :( Still, better than nothing right?

Inappropriate?OK - I was testing the web version on your next site. I will download and test it.
