Quick add = UI element filter!
I have a suggestion about the Quick Add (search function) in Balsamiq
Mockups.
The search results I get today is a drop down which dosent tell me
anything (or at least much) about the visual attributes of the object
Im about to select. The visual attributes are whats important to me
when selecting an object.
Would it not instead be great if this Quick Add search field worked as
a filter on the UI Library Element?!
I havent given this a lot of though but here is some potential issues
(and solutions).
- Would it mess up the interaction if the UI Library is not shown?
Answer: Maby not, since it could become visible (ontop of scen) when
the user starts to write. And removed when the object has been draged
to the scene.
And if a user has set the UI Library always to be shown then all the
UI elements will return after a filtering and a selection (draged to
scene) of an object.
What ya think? :)

Inappropriate?Hi Anders, thanks for your idea. I did have a search box on the UI library at some point (very early mockups build) but decided to kill it because no-one was using it (quick-add was good enough). I do hear your pain about not being able to see the control as you use Quick Add though. I think the solution is to change the list of suggestions into a TileList with thumbnails. What do you think?
