setting things up ... hanging at launch
I'm hanging when I try to open Balsamiq
it's grey and says Setting thing up.. (but it never finishes)
I tried restarting my computer, but no love still the same thing.
I've tried opening a .bmml file and just launching the application
both hang at the same place.
The weird thing is that i've been using it all day with no problems
??
Guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling next but ... is this something others have had?

Inappropriate?Hey Riel, that's not good, so sorry. Could you send me the BMML file that it's trying to open? I wonder what might have happened...
-
Inappropriate?bah ... again
-
Hi Riel, not again! What changed? Anything in the logs? Do you still have a .cfg file setup not to remember your window size? -
Inappropriate?actually, i'ts kinda weird ...
it seems like it hangs the first time .. sometimes 2 ...
then it catches ...
working fine now, but I noticed the same behaviour on my laptop at home, so it wasn't something to do with the monitors ...
just annoying, I can deal :)
I’m bah!

Inappropriate?Hello, I have the same problem.
Working on: Snow Leopard 10.6.2, Adobe AIR 1.5.2
Tried to:
1. reinstall only the air app
2. reinstall the whole adobe air and then install the air app
3. install the next preview release version
4. deleted the folder in ~/Library/Preferences/BalsamiqMocupsFor... and reinstalled
5. uninstall & reinstall not to Applications, but to some other place
6. moved all my bmml files to temporary location to prevent app loading a broken one
7. restart OS few times
Nothing worked :(
Tried to find log files, but cannot find them. None in Preferences.
I’m anxious

hello freefaler, do you still have this problem? Can you please also look at some suggested fixes here? http://getsatisfaction.com/balsamiq/t... - let us know how it goes! -
Inappropriate?Yes, I did try to do that, but it didn't work. The folder is a Dropbox folder, shared between my 3 computers, but it's a local folder. Not a network mounted one.
After 6 hr. struggle and a deadline for new interface specs looming in front of my eyes I decided that It will take me less time to make a fresh reinstall of my Mac and I will be able to finish my interfaces that day. So I deleted the whole partition, and made a clean install. It took me 2 hrs to setup the whole thing and now it's working again. -
Oh my gosh freefaler, I'm so sorry the struggle was so long. I still cannot explain what might have been wrong in the first place, and I'm glad you're up and running again. Listen I would like to refund your purchase since we've wasted you so much time. Send me an email peldi@balsamiq.com and I'll take care of it. -
Well, thank you for your refund offer, but I think you have deserved to be paid for such a good software. If you can swap you refund offer, to early access to your webapp it will be super great to test it with my team ! -
Deal. Email me and I'll set you up.
