Shortcut to start editing text
It would be great if I could start editing the "text" associated with a widget without having to double click. Maybe there is a hidden keyboard shortcut? I did not see one in the help.
I am going through this process quite often:
1) Use quick add to add a new widget (Using keyboard)
2) Double click on the widget (Using mouse)
3) Type in text (Using keyboard)
4) Move object (Keyboard or mouse)
I was hoping I could hit enter, or something similar, to do #2, so I don't have to move my hands back and forth for every widget I add. It'd also be great when you duplicate an object with Alt-Drag, since the new object is already highlighted.

Inappropriate?I wonder if your wanting this because of a strange glitch that happens to me when I double click a UI component. For some reason the UI component nudges a little over during the double click. I think this is because my cursor moves slightly between my clumsy double click.
I do think it seems natural that if an item is selected, that hitting enter would put you in text edit mode. I have seen other programs work this way.
This would be a great enhancement. -
I agree, I see the "slight movement" glitch as well on occasion, and this simple addition of "enter to edit" would mitigate that issue. -
Inappropriate?Yup, this was already on the list. I was thinking of allowing both ENTER and F2 to do this, that way we please both mac and win folks. :)
I’m going to bump up this enhancement's priority!

Inappropriate? Why not simply start editing the text if you have it selected and start typing? This standard behavior in a number of programs.
I haven't spotted any keyboard shortcuts that would get in the way. I'm novice though so I might have not found those shortcuts.
I’m want to work faster!

Inappropriate?I worry about this and that you might inadvertently edit text by accident trying to use one of the keyboard shortcuts.

Inappropriate?OK then, I made the change and it's live. If you have only one control selected, that control has text in it and you hit ENTER or F2 you'll start editing the control, as if you double-clicked on it. I used it a little bit while testing and it's one of those "OMG how have I managed without this" enhancements, thanks so much for asking for it everyone!
Best of all, it works in all versions (web and desktop)
I’m happy with the level of polish Mockups is reaching

Thank you - this is a great Usability improvement. -
Inappropriate?I was hoping this would work after using Quick Insert. Maybe its a glitch.
1) Type in "text" into the quick insert
2) Hit [Enter]
Item appears and seems to be selected
3) Hit [Enter] to edit the text
Note it does not work. Seems like you need to re-select it. :( -
You'll need to insert a 2.5 step which is "hit escape" - I like to keep focus on Quick Add after adding a control to "rapid fire add" controls.
