simulate the UX within the mockup by linking elements to bmml files.
If elements such as menus, tabs, buttons and links were given an additional property--a link to a bmml file, as you are creating the mockup you can click on the "home" tab and actually LOAD the bmml mock up for the home page in Balsamiq.
This feature would give you the ability to follow the workflow and really flesh out the UX.

Inappropriate?Yes - that's the idea! Another few ideas:
In the help menu – an option to check for a new release and upgrade the application. I was using 1.5.x and didn’t even know 1.6.x was out.
Also, after I played with the link feature I noticed the width of the “link” filenames is limited, if you have long filenames you can’t really distinguish one from the other. Perhaps defaulting the width of the drop down box to the length of the longest filename?
And, finally, perhaps the "link" can be followed by using a CTRL-left-click so you don't need "presentation mode." Just a quick and easy way to cycle between mockups.
Thoughts? -
Hi George, all good ideas.
We are working on check for updates (there's a thread about it here), we'll fix the filename bug and I'll think about CTRL+click on the link icon to follow it, I like the idea but CTRL+click is already used for something so it might have to be CTRL+double-click or something like that.
Thanks for the feedback! -
Inappropriate?Great! Thanks again for the SUPER fast feedback. I'm really, really pleased with the application.
More ideas:
- font options. currently only system and the 'handwriting' font. what about the ability to chose from system fonts?
- charts only have two colors (blue/red), can you properties to add more color options and specify the % for each color. That would REALLY make the charting elements great! -
you can choose a font: http://www.balsamiq.com/products/mock...
As for charting, yes others have asked about it and it's on the TODO list.
