Spaces Disappear in Menu Bar Text

When using the menu bar object, I quite often add spaces between the items to allow room for seperators / icons.

However, if i edit the text (for instance in this example remove the ... after generate) the spaces are being forgotten. It doesn't seem to happen all the time, but can be a bit frustrating!
