User Defined Grouped Items Dock
I frequently am reusing elements that I've put together for things like registration box, blog comments, pages of text for different tabs...
My continuously expanding "side bar" area outside of the main screen area gets pretty cluttered
Since I'm reusing them on various page layouts anyway, and often across many sites since often they have similar requirements, it would be nice to have a separate doc where I could save these elements for easy call back, where they don't land in a pile beside my main screen mockup.
(for example I may have 3 different signup boxes, that are all basically the same, just with different text... redoing them for each page makes no sense... I'm sure you get the idea.

Inappropriate?I'm just thinking of another dock / toolbar like the one that's there for the current elements.
You could drag your elements in there and maybe name them
Elements would just be groups of items.
I like your idea (We call them snippets in our CMS)
but that would require a little more coding than what I'm thinking of
Just a repository for bits rather than any version tracking abilities or awareness of where it's been deployed. -
Inappropriate?Hey Riel, quick workaround while I think of the request more thoroughly: right now you could save your bits and pieces each in its own file, then import the one you need when you need it. Importing just adds to the current mockup, it doesn't wipe away what you have. Would this work, at least for now?

That's more pain than it's worth...
I love the drag and drop nature of your software, managing multiple files for little elements would be a pain
(unless you could actually link them ... now we're getting into different turf but ... for example ... making the 3 views of a tab is annoying ... would rather if I could make all three and have the tab active / show / hide stuff I've "grouped" onto it....
same with the menu and pages within a site... a simple linking / tying together different sheets would be a nice up (talked about it elsewhere)
but I know it starts getting away from being a quick mock up tool at that point and we're getting more into a prototype model.
