Want to crop images in Mockups
The most common way I'll use the image component in mockups is to take a screenshot of our current design, import it, and then make changes using mockups.
The missing feature that I'm missing right now (either requires me to do lots of different screenshots or (heaven forbid) just using PowerPoint) is the cropping feature. It is so handy to be able to isolate specific parts of a current design and reuse them for new designs.
Per favore!

Inappropriate?Hey Adam, I don't understand. Which do you want to crop: a) an image when you import it or b) the PNG exported by Mockups?
Logging off for 2008, happy new year!

Inappropriate?I think this is really important. Very common workflow for me in PowerPoint now:
- Import the base image
- Crop it down to the piece that's relevant
- Position it
Often I find I'll use three different parts of the base image, in three different areas of the mockup. So I'll duplicate, re-crop, and then use that new piece.
In the above example, I might want to use the CNN.com logo, and then the video box, and then the search bar... all in different places.
Having to crop the image before I import it is challenging, since I'm not sure what I'm going to need until I'm in the process.

Inappropriate?I am running into the same issue. I want to have a common backdrop for our application, but I want to crop portions of it so I can concentrate only on some small areas of the screen instead of the entire page.
I’m interested int seeing this one come in.

Inappropriate?+1 vote for cropping. It is a very common workflow for me also to import an image, and then crop just a portion out of it, discarding the rest.
For an implementation idea, I really like how iWork Pages does cropping. Images could simply have a switch: use cropping yes/no, and if yes, you have a simple rectangular crop mask, and you can keep resizing both the crop mask and image non-destructively. And if you switch away from the image component, only the masked piece of image is shown in the mockup.
I attached how it looks in Pages.

I’m hopeful to get cropping

Inappropriate?Any news on when we might see this? It's a pretty important feature for me!
