What other text is rendered as a symbol or icon besides [] and [x]?
Just discovered that the Data Grid / Table does another cool and unexpected thing -- adds checked or unchecked boxes when you include [] or [x] in the text box. Are there other such symbols or wingding kind of things lurking about?
Especially for column headers, it would be great to display a upward or downward pointing triangle to indicate a column is sortable, and if the sort is ascending or descending.
Cheers,

Inappropriate?Hi Joe, the datagrid also supports () and (o) for radio buttons. I plan on supporting v and ^ for the header rows, but it's not implemented yet. I'll bump up the priority!
I’m a fan of "cool and unexpected" things!
-
Inappropriate?P.S. I will be documenting all of these special characters in the help soon.
-
Is there any progress on adding an upward triangle and a downward triangle? -
Hi Dwight, nothing yet but I bumped your request up the list some. For now you can overlay icons, but I'm sure you knew that. -
Inappropriate?Superb. As has been said before, you folks have gone far beyond the norm in responsiveness, salud!

I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Would it be possible to get something like _this is a link_ to allow a single piece of text to be underlined as text?
-
Hi Dan, funny I am working on this just now! New blog post coming... -
That has to be some kind of record for customer request to complete software. Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Yes, I needed such text just yesterday! It's not uncommon for a data grid to need only one or two columns to have hypertext, but not the other columns. Please consider this feature.
Thx,
-- Joe
I’m confident

I am about to check in something that might make you happy...blog post forthcoming... :) -
Inappropriate? Please see this: http://www.balsamiq.com/blog/?p=650 - I'd love your help testing it!

Hey just tested it for a bit. Link and Italics work great. Bold Doesn't seem to work. I have this in a grid:
Name, Last Name, Age, Nickname, Kid
[Giacomo], *Guilizzoni*, 33, Peldi, []
Guido Jack, Guilizzoni, 3, The Guids, [x]
Mariah, *Maclachlan*, 34, _Patata_, []
But the text is not coming out bold on the * items. I am doing something wrong? -
no, the issue is that the grid is already all bold by default. You have to 'unbold' it in the property inspector to notice the text you made bold. -
Sorry, I figure it out. The whole grid was already bold. Whe I "unbold" it the bold shows up great. Thanks so much for this. You just saved me about an hour of overlaying labels onto blank grid cells so that they could be underlined. Some of my users have trouble getting beyond the little issues if they see something wrong. -
Dang you are good...
This even works [*_Patata_*] -
* also does not work in the Text Box and Text Area. Is this also because these are bold by default? I don't see away to change them to be non-bold. -
Inappropriate?Hi all, today's release includes the ability to do some basic formatting of text: http://www.balsamiq.com/blog/?p=662 - check it out!
-
Inappropriate? How about this: -Some Text- to use a strikethrough font?
-
Hi Tom, I thought about that but unfortunately Flash doesn't support strikethrough text, at least in player 9 which I'm using. Player 10 will in the future, but I can't use it yet since its adoption is too low for now...give it 6 months or so. :) I'll keep your feedback in mind when the day comes!
