When I copy & paste a control, layering properties are not pasted.
Control Copy and Paste do not replicate layering properties.

Inappropriate?Hi Paulo, can you please show me a screenshot of what you mean? I'm not sure I understand
-
Sorry Paulo, but I'm still understanding the bug. Whenever you paste something, it gets added to the top of the list. Did you copy more than the rectangle? Could you perhaps describe a list of steps to reproduce the bug with a simple mockup? -
Inappropriate? If the expected behavior is to paste something with different layering properties, then there is no bug.
I selected the rectangle that is backward compared with Semnun, Name, etc, lables. When I copy this rectangle, I was expecting to get an exact copy, not a rectangle with different layer position.
Thanks. -
Hi Paulo, thanks. I see what you mean. Pasted controls always go to the top in Mockups, they do not get inserted right above the copied controls. What software do you know that behaves as you describe? I'd like to study it. What happens when you have multiple controls (and thus multiple layers) in the clipboard? Where does the pasted controls end up? -
Inappropriate?Sorry,
I do not know other software with this behavior or different behavior at all. I don't use CAD programs enough. I just can say that I was expecting an exact copy ... if the copy has the same height, width, etc ... why not the same layering?
I’m confused

Well, there's no explicit concept of layers in mockups (no "layers panel" like in Photoshop), but each shape has a layer of its own (that's just how Flash/AIR works). So I had to decide which layers to use for pasted graphics, and I decided to use the top ones, so that you'd always see what you pasted. Obviously that's not what you expected, and it's good feedback, so thank you. Let me mull it over and see if there's something I can do to make the behavior more intuitive... -
Inappropriate? How about a ctrl + d for the current behavior and another shortcut with actual layering?
-
Inappropriate? This is an example of another software application that handles copy and paste function that allow users to duplicate layer properties or apply layer properties to other layer objects.

Not sure if this helps but there is a beahavior in Photoshop that you can check out. When designing mockups I can use layers to create an image in Photoshop. Layers can have their own styles attached to them, like layer properties. If I were to just select the object within that layer and do a copy and paste, Photoshop will paste into new layer but the Layer Styles or layer properties will not be copied over.
Photoshop allows a few methods to apply the layer properties. 1. You can right click on the layer and say duplicate layer and it will create an exact copy with all it's layer properties. 2. You can also Select to copy the layer Style or properties and apply the same attributes to different layers. This feature is really powerful and such a time saver. I can select how many layers at the same time and apply an effect or attribute to them with a simple Paste Layer Style.
