Hi, folks, we've brought back the "print edition" link as a result of your feedback. You can find it at the bottom of any page, under "Resources," or you can click and bookmark this link: http://www.baltimoresun.com/services/...

Inappropriate?ChipMac, we no longer have the "print edition" link on the Web site, though all of the content in the morning's newspaper is on baltimoresun.com. We aim to make sure our coverage as a news organization works both in the newspaper and on the Web site, so the distinction was growing less relevant. Thanks for writing in!

Inappropriate?Mary,
I will be LESS likely to visit baltimoresun.com, and when I do, I will only be looking for LOCAL content, because your paper has eliminated the "Print Edition" link. The web site was special because of its tie to the community, and the inability to browse the Print Edition makes it much less special. Except for local coverage, we can find the same news elsewhere, probably the same content from the wire services.
Please pass on to the "Powers That Be" ... local coverage is your differentiator. IMPROVE local coverage or perish.

Inappropriate?ChipMac, we still have just as much local content in the paper and on the site as we had before the redesign. No other media organization can match the amount and quality of local reporting that we publish, and we have dedicated significant editorial resources to ensuring that continues to be true.

Inappropriate?I can't believe you have eliminated the "Print Edition' link. Some items in the paper that I want to save personally were simple to locate with a Print Edition (which, by the way, virtually every other newspaper of substance in the country provides). And try and imagine this -- sometimes I don't have the paper with me and want to reveiw what was ain the paperctually today -- for which the "Print Edition' was invaluable. I know this is hard to picture -- close to being 'rocket science' -- but try to anyway. This apparently is continuing the trend of the Sun to provide less while telling us how much you care and how you're tailoring the paper to 'our needs.' I realize times are tough -- and I greatly sympathize with the overwhelming financial pressures the Sun and other newspapaer are facing. But in addition to less news -- i.e., substance -- you can't keep deleting basic features in the name of efficiency and expect to keep any readership whatsoever. Get rid of the happy faces and keep some of the substance.

Thank you for considering the needs/desires of your readership by restoring the 'Print Edition' link. It preserves an essential feature of any quality newspaper. This also demonstrates that you really are concerned about audience/customer satisfaction.
