Is there someone currently in charge of the organization of "barcamp"?
Is there someone currently in charge of the organization of "barcamp"? I am doing research for a non-profit organization working with SJSU and wanted to get in contact with the the current leaders of Barcamp, but I am not sure if there even are leaders of this organization.

Inappropriate?Technically, there is no central leadership of BarCamp, in many ways, on purpose.
The name and mark are "licensed" under a made-up variant of trademark called a "Community Mark", which basically leaves the execution of protection of the brand in the hands of the active community:

The best place to find "leaders" of BarCamp is on the community mailing list:
http://groups.google.com/group/barcamp
There you'll find veteran organizers and folks who can answer your questions, but no "owners" in the traditional sense.

Inappropriate?Additionally, it's what we call a "starfish" organization -- as described in Ori Brafman's book "The Starfish and the Spider."
