Discoverâ„¢ is a FREE application that allows you to transfer your files from any computer or iPhone to your iPhone via Wi-Fi networks and view them on the go.
Version 0.9.6 indeed solved the blank screen issue (thanks !) but unfortunately the password is still not requested on the iPhone side when opening the private folder (as was set in the preferences).
Could it be some old setting from an earlier version that keeps this feature disabled?
Just installed Discover on my iPod Touch running iPhone OS 3.0. It appears to work fine, but shows no files, just two empty folders (Public and Private).
Absolutely unable to connect PC (Windows XP) to iPhone. Installed the Discover App on iPhone. Even installed the Discover client on Windows. Still unable to connect. Successfully pinged iPhone but whenever I enter the URL for e.g. http://10.0.0.50:8888, no response at all. Yes, both devices are on the same Wifi.

I have just purchased discover for android, how do i set up server? Im running windows xp on computer. All i see are iphone downloads on main page. Also how do i find out ip address and port? Is it asking for phone or computer ip and port? Thanks sorry im kinda new to this stuff.
This might sound really dumb but I just want to download the photos from my iPhone Photo Roll into my public directory, how the hell do I do it?? I've accessed the discover thing @http://xxx.xx.x.x:8888/ but all that has it options to upload from my computer!
I can't seem to Map Network Drive to access Discover (I have followed the instructions to the letter). I can access Discover through my web browser & the Discover client fine but every time I try to Map Network Drive I get a "The network path http://192.168.1.100:8888 could not be found" error. I am using Windows Vista & have tested this with SP1 & all the latest updates (& with the original Vista installation & no updates) & the same occurs. A similar file viewing/storing app available through iTunes which also uses the Map Network Drive feature has no such problems so this doesn't appear to be a problem with my wireless network or the operating system.
Is anybody else having this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
How do I download files in interenet explorer? There is no option for it. Furthermore when I enter usernames and passwords it tells me access denied for mapping the drive what username and password should I be using?
I can login to my Box.net account with aFile for Android but can't see my files. The application only gives me the option of creating a new folder. Why is this happening? Also, why does discover server for mac not support tiger 10.4?
I can't reinstall discover error 0xe800002e. Think its because there is already data in the directory from previous install and it was pasword protected.
I am unable to map a network drive with Vista. When I follow all the directions, i get a network error 'windows cannot access http://192.168.1.167:8888 check the spelling of the name.....etc.... under details it says 'error code:0x80070043 the network name cannot be found'.
of note, i set this up just fine on my girlfriend's computer which is using XP. also, while i was waiting for discovers most recent version which fixed the white screen problem, i used files lite for a few days. i was able to set up that network without any problems and it worked fine. i have since deleted that network and want to create one for discover....but have not been able to because of the problems in the above paragraph.
I read on Appstore that Discover could be used with Diskaid via USB connection : how does it works ? I created a file in DCIM file and added docs but how to see them in Discover as said ?
I've created soft link file in Discover/Documents/Public which points to camera folder (/private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM) to have a possibility to copy photos from iPhone by WiFi, but Discover cannot enter to this folder and crashes. Could you please fix this to show soft link like a regular directory?
I've uploaded two PDF files, approximately 3.5-4.5MB each. When I access them on my iPod Touch I only get a blank page I can scroll pointlessly. I'd be happy to get any advice.
Problem: PDF files <2mb>10MB slow file listing substantially when opening a folder and trying to open the files themselves will, most times, freeze and crash the iPhone (at least in my case). I was able to open one about 17MB once, but the 67MB file crashed my iPhone every time. I've tried this with other files of similar sizes and the file opens just fine on my desktop, so it's not corrupted. More often that not, however, I'm crashed (or at least frozen for 15+ seconds) on the file list view.
Suggestion: If possible, include a way to turn off preview generation in the file list mode. I believe this is what's causing the navigation to slow down so much. Also, figure out how to reduce processor load through delayed page processing...don't have the program try to render the entire document at once. I'm willing to bet that's what's causing the freeze-ups and crashes. There may even be a way to include parsing the documents upon uploading that could, in theory, also help reduce load times. But then, that's for another thread...and outside my area of expertise.
Problem: Folder names longer than 9 characters will hang when trying to open them when in the desktop web interface.
Suggestion: In the event that this issue isn't mine exclusively (haven't heard much from others on this), perhaps limit folder name length until a fix can be found.
